Dr. Lana Beck is Silveray’s Medical Applications Engineer. Lana did her PhD with University of Bristol and Vrije Universiteit Brussel studying high energy particle physics at the LHC at CERN. Having acquired skills in data analysis and machine learning, Lana began applying her knowledge of particle physics and detectors to medical applications. Her postdoctoral research was on using particle detectors, such as silicon pixel detectors and diamond detectors, to monitor radiotherapy treatment beams in real-time to enhance patient safety.

Her initial work at Silveray will focus on radiation hardness studies of our direct X-ray conversion material, progressing on to developing the medical applications of our detector with key customers in the industry.
